From: MiR-690, a Runx2-targeted miRNA, regulates osteogenic differentiation of C2C12 myogenic progenitor cells by targeting NF-kappaB p65

Fig. 1

A program of miRNAs is expressed during Runx2-induced osteogenic differentiation of C2C12 cells. a C2C12/Runx2Dox cells were treated with Dox for the times indicated (0–72 h). The mRNA level of Runx2, Alp, and OC was determined by real-time qPCR. All data are presented as the mean ± SD from three independent experiments. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 compared with untreated cells (0 h). b ALP and matrix mineralizing activity were measured by ALP and Alizarin red staining at days 7 and 28, respectively. Similar results were obtained in three independent experiments. c Differentially expressed miRNAs from miRNA microarray data. 54 miRNAs whose expression changed by ≥ 1.5-fold at least one time point were chosen as the differentially expressed miRNAs by comparing with untreated cells (0 h), and these miRNAs were arranged by unsupervised hierarchical clustering. Data value displayed as red and green represent elevated (high) and reduced expression (low), respectively
